Brian leads grassroots outreach and organizing for Rodriguez Strategies. He excels at building diverse coalitions in support of various policy initiatives. His achievements include spearheading efforts to engage and protect small businesses from burdensome regulations as well as creating a multilingual campaign to elevate the importance of federal programs that fund California parks and open spaces.

 

Brian cut his campaign teeth working in Nevada for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. He subsequently honed his skills closer to home where he was an integral member of successful Los Angeles-based campaigns for candidates running for the California State Assembly and LAUSD Board of Education.

 

Brian previously lived in Brazil where he studied Brazilian foreign politics and film direction. He also lived in Mexico where he served as a music instructor at the University of Guadalajara and as a child mentor in Tijuana’s YMCA orphanage center. He recently returned from China where he taught English as second language in Zhejiang and Guangdong.

 

Brian received a degree in political science from the University of California Merced. He played collegiate soccer and was a member of the student government where he led efforts to develop policies to improve the quality of student life. He is fluent in both Portuguese and Spanish and is conversational in mandarin. Brian resides in Los Angeles and makes a point to carve out time to maintain his soccer skills on the weekend.
