Ashley Lautzenhiser is a Senior Vice President at Rodriguez Strategies

Ashley’s career spans nearly 15 years working in consulting, government, and the non-profit sector. She has expertise leading campaigns across a wide variety of issue areas and candidates, and excels at bringing together research and data, effective coalitions, targeted voter contact, earned media, and hands-on management to craft winning strategies.

Ashley’s experience includes conducting quantitative and qualitative research, leading public affairs campaigns, and executing strategic communication plans for organizations and clients large and small. She has extensive expertise distilling complicated policy issues and research-tested findings into effective messages for earned and paid media, and has secured media hits in state, local, and national press outlets.

Ashley has served as a staff member and consultant for organizations and clients on issues including education, healthcare, the arts, technology and innovation, energy and the environment, and telecommunications. She is a skilled coalition-builder, with successes at bringing together both grasstops stakeholders and broad-based grassroots efforts on ballot measures, state and federal legislation, and local resolutions.

She has experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of ballot measure and independent expenditure campaigns including direct mail, texting, and door-to-door canvassing efforts that have collectively reached millions of California voters.

Ashley formerly served as the deputy executive director of an LA non-profit focused on educational equity, and has worked extensively with funders, students, families, community organizations, and non-profit leaders on issues including school finance reform, equitable access to high-quality schools, data transparency, increasing student supports during and post-pandemic, and boosting civic engagement in underserved neighborhoods. 

Ashley holds a BA in political science from Indiana University, and a master’s degree in public policy from the Sol Price School of Public Policy at the University of Southern California. She started her career in Washington D.C. working for U.S. Senator Evan Bayh. Ashley lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
